At approximately 1:45 p.m. on August 2, 2022, Prosper Fire Rescue received a call about a structure fire at the First Presbyterian Church of Prosper located at 400 S. Coleman St. on the southwest corner of First Street and Coleman. Upon arrival, Prosper Fire Rescue crews worked swiftly to get the fire under control with the assistance of Frisco, Celina, McKinney, Little Elm and Aubrey Fire Departments. There were no reports of anyone inside or injuries and the fire did not spread to any additional structures. The Prosper Fire Marshal determined the cause of the 3-alarm fire at First Presbyterian Church was due to an electrical fire associated with the HVAC system.

The First Presbyterian Church of Prosper has been in its current location since 1902 and was designated as a historic structure by the Texas Historical Commission in 2012.
